Real Madrid survived a late scare from Malaga to open up a four point gap at the top of La Liga.
Sergio Ramos was the hero with his first half brace setting Zinedine Zidane's side back on the winning path after two defeats in a week.
Juanpi pulled one back for the away side after half-time but they were unable to press for an equaliser, and Real were able to hold out for a deserved victory.
